Abukloi Secondary School is a learning environment where secondary students across South Sudan, regardless of culture, language, creed, age, gender, or marital status. Students can learn in a safe atmosphere that develops the human capacity for well-being in all areas of life: intellectual, physical, spiritual, social, environmental, financial, occupational and emotional.
Abukloi’s curriculum aims to instill critical thinking and practical skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly changing global society. It emphasizes the development of core academic subjects as well as essential competencies such as problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy.
Experiential learning offers new possibilities for providing youth with valuable experiences connected with emerging innovations. It provides opportunities to address challenges created by climate change, economic failures, and chronic health issues. Abukloi seeks to address these issues within the context of gender equity and community partnerships that promote peace and conflict resolution.
The school campus is literally an oasis in the community providing green space and food in a laboratory of sustainable agriculture and reforestation. Trees provide nutritious food, act as windbreaks, and provide much-needed shade. As Abukloi grows, partnerships with other environmental leaders will help make the campus a microcosm of self-sustainability.

At Abukloi Secondary, students have the opportunity to participate in over 30 clubs and teams. Here are a sampling of some of the most popular groups that students can join.

Peace ClubThis vital student organization is dedicated to promoting peace, unity, tolerance, respect, and cooperation. Character building activities instill values of respect, empathy, and tolerance that go far beyond the walls of the school. Motto: Peace begins with each one of us.

Science ClubA science club inspires curiosity and encourages students to explore the world through hands-on experiments, discovery, and innovation. Participation helps develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for science and technology.

Poetry ClubThis club provides a dynamic platform where students can express their thoughts, emotions, experiences, and ideas. Poetry is a powerful way of communicating and develops creativity, confidence, teamwork, and public speaking skills. Motto: Words become voices and voices inspire change.

Traditional Dance ClubParticipants teach, celebrate, and preserve rich traditional dances as they learn discipline and strong teamwork. There are currently 331 students that participate in the club. Dances include Kobolo, New Twic, Loor, Acholi, Wuak and Ring. They perform at graduation and other ceremonies throughout the school year.

Football TeamsSports offer numerous physical and mental health benefits, helping people stay active, build strength, and improve overall fitness. Our boys' and girls' football teams are very competitive, and students learn teamwork, discipline, and confidence. The most athletic students participate on the school's teams that play against other secondary schools.

Volleyball TeamsVolleyball is very popular with all of our students, whether they are representing the school on the girls' or boys' athletic teams or they are just playing in mixed groups during outdoor recreation time. Whether played recreationally or competitively, sports encourage healthy habits and foster social connections that can last a lifetime.

Abukloi Secondary School's committed teaching staff provides a nationally recognized education and small-business training curriculum. All of our teachers are qualified and certified from East Africa, with a majority coming from South Sudan. Abukloi embodies gender equality by hiring female teachers to create a well-balanced educational experience.
